Senior Technical Consultant, Core Banking Technology

Project Leader responsible for major modifications of print programs, JCL and JCL transmission protocol, intensive testing and intra and extra company coordination. Central figure in the conversion of legacy AG Edwards Infoprint system to new in-house system utilizing Exstream Dialogue technology. Utilized my technical expertise and documentation skills to explain operations and processing between different departments, different environments and different languages (UNIX, Windows, IBM Mainframe, NDM, FTP, COBOL, JCL, ASCII and EBCDIC formatted data). Created and maintained all documents necessary to move projects through the entire life cycle, including Technical Statement of Work (TSOW) project details and estimates for beginning project approval, unit testing, Business partner and user acceptance preparation and reviews, Metavante FasTest verifications, post production verifications and follow-up documentation. Maintained common reference information in a shared server area to help others obtain information on different applications and to help with the life cycle project implementation procedures.

Ø  Responsibilities include complete system conversion design, analysis, coding testing, implementation, user coordination. Intensive hands on and sign off responsibilities of components made up of mainly new and modified JCL batch and transmission job streams, modified Cobol programs, AFP resources, data analysis and data integrity.

Ø  Setup connectivity and data transfer profiles between AG Edwards UNIX server and Wachovia test and production mainframe boxes via ConnectDirect.

Ø  Responsible for converting PC images in jpg, gif, and tif formats to AFP page segments via Elixir.

Ø  Used post-processing Streamweaver logic to reformat and redirect AFP output data using Finalist mail processing data and to enhance the output printing and reprint functionality.

Ø  Create and enhance the ability to archive output print streams via Mobius archiving application.

Ø  Implemented several new processing flows and enhancements to existing flows in coordination with operations and CA7 scheduling team.

Ø  Provided secondary support for the mainframe Performance Statement System within the Wachovia Securities Division.

UBS Financial Services, Inc. – Weehawken, NJ 2007

Project Manager

Provide maintenance and production support for various mainframe applications and jobs in the Corporate Employee Financial Services (CEFS) department. Create and maintain documentation of existing and new jobs for ongoing maintenance and other staff members' reference. Work with Business Users and other technical personnel to transform business requirements into functional specifications using ADP (Application Development Process) methodology. Participate in the development process, Quality Assurance cycle, and implementation to ensure that company standards are followed. Coach and mentor other team members in AFP and PPFA coding.

Ø  Analyze, design, present and implement enhancements to Employee Stock Option Plan (ESOP) confirm delivery method. Automated several processes which saved cost of having it processed manually.

Ø  Authored system documentation for entire Corporate Employee Financial Services (CEFS) systems including confirms, advices, labels and statement data collection.

Ø  Promoted cross-training for staff to develop technical skills and systems knowledge, flexibility for project assignments, and provide back-up expertise.

Prudential Financial – Newark, NJ 1996-2007

Technical Project Leader – Managed Accounts Consulting Group (2004-2007)

Provide team leadership for design and development of detailed quarterly performance monitors. Participate in analysis, prototyping, testing and results analysis. Solely responsible for coordinating print and distribution of nearly half a million documents each quarter for both third party and internal clients and brokers.

Ø  Converted PDF data generated by split_afp2pdf via UNIX subsystem to use new software offered in release v4.63 of CSF.

Ø  Project leader and chief engineer (full life-cycle analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, support) responsible for Managed Accounts Quarterly Accounts Monitor output and distribution systems. Coordinated all testing between business users (internal and external), systems area, print facility and distribution center.

Ø  Designed and developed the process to convert several variable page financial statements from AFP format to PDF (for Acrobat Reader). Using basic shell scripts transferred indexed AFP data from MVS to UNIX Sub System where split_afp2pdf translator modules parsed individual PDF files into specific directories. Upon user approval, these directories were then “tar”red (tape archived) and NDM to an external business partner.

Ø  Designed two variable page international mutual fund statements by converting from AFP/API format using CSF technology. CSF components necessary for this application included OMR and 3 of 9 bar-coding via ROC, house-holding, run statistics and indexing (ACIF) for online viewing. Responsible for developing hierarchy, report definition, data definition and interface program on both projects. All painting done with CSF Workshop.

 

 

Technical Project Leader – Transfer Agency (1996-2004)

Sole AFP programmer for transfer agency applications. Design and develop financial media such as confirms, letters, statements, certificates required by several business units within the agency.

Ø  Designed low account balance letter using CSF technology for variable page duplex printing using CSF technology.

Ø  Using IBM’s AFP/API, designed, developed and maintain seven detailed variable page Mutual Funds Statement Systems (Target, Target II, PPA, Preference, Strategist, PruChoice, PruPreferred and Mutual Fund Choice). As the lead AFP programmer, was involved in the full project life cycle: definition of user requirements, preparation of program specifications, coding and testing of modules, preparation of procedures, system and user acceptance for these products. Educated a junior-level programmer in AFP/API calls to assist on several of these projects.

Ø  Designed and developed a Customer Re-Allocation, Billing and Welcome Letter System. This system processes letters for new accounts coming into the program and existing accounts re-allocating from fund to fund. These letters are created using PPFA and OGL. This system has been cloned and used by other groups in the firm. Re-engineered this system to use CSF technology.

Ø  Assisted in completing year 2000 system modifications for all wrap-fee mutual fund systems.

 

Prudential Securities, Inc. – New York, NY 1993-1996

Senior Programmer Analyst – Transfer Agency

Ø  Perform multifaceted programming and analysis from code development through acceptance testing on several mutual fund fee reporting projects.

Ø  Enhanced and support a Wrap Fee Commission System. This system tracks trades that meet a $10,000 threshold on an account level and transmits the fee to a centralized system.

Ø  Designed, developed and implemented a Finder's Fee System. This system tracks a plan's assets and produce reports and commission feeds to be processed by another data center within the company.

Ø  Designed, developed and implemented a daily cash flow system to calculate time-weighted performance for Target and PruChoice quarterly statements.
