1)    Design and build reports using IBM Query and RPG programs to provide needed reports and application modifications that were not available from their new AS400 software vendor, HealthCare Management Systems.

2)    Design and build interfaces using RPG and C/L programs to outside systems and vendors, including banks, printing systems and billing vendors.

3)    Design and build an AS400 based application that tracks and reports required training for health care professionals. This included automatic emailing of compliance reports to department heads.

1)    Assigned as the Information Systems Specialist for the Adolescent Health Strategic Planning Project. The primary goal of this project was to improve New Hampshire’s adolescent health care system through strategic planning and implementation to improve the health status of New Hampshire’s youth. Performed a statewide search for data systems containing adolescent health data. Wrote a comprehensive report that became the roadmap for moving the project forward

2)    Assigned as the Information Systems Specialist for the Early Hearing Detection & Intervention Project. The primary goal of this project was to develop a high quality, efficient, family-centered, and sustainable statewide universal newborn hearing screening program. Performed a comprehensive search for the right technology solution for the State and for partner birthing facilities. Lead the RFP effort to choose the best vendor.

(Co-wrote a grant application to the Center for Disease Control which resulted in $400,000 in funding for this project.)

3)    Wrote data interface documentation for hospital Information System Departments to get patient demographic data into the web based Newborn Hearing Screening application. The goal is to reduce the hospital’s manual data entry effort.

(Municipal Government Operations)

 

·         Converted from a 4 client IBM System/38 to a distributed environment consisting of 2 IBM AS/400's and 5 Windows NT (4.0) servers, with 100+ active clients at 6 sites throughout town. Responsibility for the 7/24 computing functions of seventeen major departments including police, fire and public works with an annual budget of $350,000 and a staff of three. By increasing the town=s employee productivity and efficiency the I.S. department was instrumental in minimizing staffing level increases, even during periods of high town development and growth.

 

·         Coordinated the complete automation of the Police Department including CAD (Computer Aided Dispatching), Records Management, Mobile Computing, forms redesign and training.

 

·         Created 6 separate LANs, interconnected by leased lines, dial-up lines and fiberoptics to form a town wide government WAN for the purpose of e-mail, document interchange, hardware/software sharing, database access, Internet access, and Geographic Information System (GIS) access.

 

·         Championed and developed a Geographic Information System (GIS). This involved subcontracting a flyover of the town to capture surface object imagery. The GIS provides paper maps and electronic maps with Alayers@ of data elements. It also provides Intranet access to GIS data and graphical images linked together for visual data analysis etc. Established a revenue fund to protect income from the sale of GIS assets to allow the project to become financially self sustaining. Applied for and received a software grant of approximately $75,000 worth of GIS software.

 

·         Designed and built several business applications and associated databases using RPG, C/L and SQL. These applications include Purchasing, A/R, Utility Billing & Collections, Property Management, Tax Billing & Collections, Call Management, Records Management and Permit Management.

 

·         Coordinated the development of MS Access databases and applications in the Fire Department for the purpose of tracking activity from the point of call to it=s final disposition. Also coordinated the Access development of a document imaging system to store and retrieve UCC filings and implemented a Public Works software suite based on Access.

 

·         Implemented a town-wide Centrex telephone system and subsequently a voice mail system from ActiveVoice. This affected approximately 120 voice and fax stations.

 

·         Responsible for security, availability, and disaster recovery. This included the use of mirrored drives, UPS, electric generators, automated backups, automated paging, off-site storage, and a hot site.

 

·         Was the first town in NH to completely automate the automobile registration process. This included coordinating with the State of NH and with a book publishing agency to receive registration and vehicle value information electronically.
