QUALIFICATION SUMMARY

 

Mr. Harman is a Senior Consultant with CSC's Global SAP Practice. He has 9 years of SAP R/3 experience (versions 3.1H – 4.7), preceded by 17 years of industry experience (at a market leading manufacturer) and 10 years as a small business owner. Bruce’s 9 years of SAP experience have all been in the area of project management, ranging from Team Lead to Engagement Manager. His areas of expertise are project management, solution design and development; including development and implementation of pre defined solutions. His functional background includes experience in controlling, cost accounting, capital planning, financial reporting and analysis. His technical background includes work on both the user and consulting sides with variety roles including project manager, team leader, lead consultant, systems manager and system administrator. He has worked on seven significant ERP engagements including work with global clients.

 

Mr. Harman has very strong product knowledge, and excellent communication and leadership skills. His broad experience in manufacturing, consumer products, footwear and apparel, and software industries has given him a solid understanding of the business processes, project methodologies and management. He is a strong team player and is committed to delivering the best solution.

 


 

EXPERIENCE SUMMARY

 

Mr. Harman was the Engagement Manager for a $1.5 M Managed Services Engagement at an industry leading software firm which had just completed a global SAP integration project; including a full suite of modules: Finance & Controlling, Sales & Distribution, Materials Management, Purchasing, HR and Special Ledger. He led a team of 10 functional and technical consultants and 20-25 key users, initially providing post go-live problem solving support and later system enhancements. Among the enhancements was an innovative approach to implementing a new Fiscal Year Variant for consolidated external reporting, as well as a number of pricing improvements to support highly specialized revenue recognition for software. Additionally, Mr. Harman provided the project plan for upgrading their SAP system from 4.5B to 4.7 Enterprise and worked with their IT infrastructure team to prepare the project system landscape for the upgrade team.         

 

As an SAP FI-CO Finance-Controlling Post Go-Live Team Manager, Bruce was responsible for development of 200+ post go-live fixes and enhancements to the financial accounting & controlling solution. Bruce led a team of 21-25 FTE's through development, testing and go-live. Scope included FI, AP, AR, Tax & Treasury, Asset Accounting, Investment Management and CO-CCA/PCA/PA. Of special note was the development of Operating Profit reporting for senior management, which had not been addressed in the initial implementation.

Bruce was the CO (Controlling) Implementation Team Lead responsible for implementation of SAP CO Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting and Profitability Analysis over a 14 month period. He had a team of 8-10 consultants, technical resources and internal users. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, he successfully led the team through project preparation to go-live. In addition, Bruce was the project’s Training Manager for 300 FI-CO users. This included responsibility for development of training materials, scheduling and delivery of training.

Mr. Harman was the Lead CO consultant with a team of 10-15 consultants and users responsible for the development of a Business Blueprint for the implementation of CO-CCA/PCA/PA and Costing at a leading CPG company. Under Bruce’s leadership, the team completed a full as-is and to-be analysis of the company’s financial controlling and reporting systems. Bruce was then reassigned to be the Lead Consultant with a team of 8-10 consultants and users responsible for the development of a Business Blueprint for the implementation of SAP EC-CS (Enterprise Controlling – Consolidation System) at a leading consumer electronics firm.

Bruce also served as Systems Manager for an integrated product documentation project. In this capacity, he leveraged his managerial experience to guide cross functional work shops with diverse participants through the process of defining as-is and to-be processes. Working with IBM and a wide range of users and IT resources; Bruce developed a project plan that was to provide $50M annual savings upon implementation.   

As System Administrator of a newly installed SAP EC-CS system at an industry leading sports footwear, apparel and equipment company, Mr. Harman assumed full responsibility for its operation and administration. This included coordinating consolidation of financial results from the Americas, EMEA and Asia Pacific and provided legal, managerial and budget/forecast reporting to senior management and operating management. Additionally, Mr. Harman identified and implemented a number of operational efficiency and system improvements, which resulted in a streamlined consolidation process. Upon completion of the System Administration engagement, Bruce was retained as an SAP EC-CS Consultant, to develop a business blueprint for the upgrade of their 4.5B EC-CS system to 4.6C, which was subsequently successfully utilized by their in-house team.

 As an SAP SEM Consultant, Bruce completed the SAP SEM Academy, BW Reporting & Analysis Training and SAP SEM-BCS Training; Co-Taught an SAP01 - SAP Overview Class and an SAP EC-CS 4.7 Financial Consolidation Class; and provided SEM Consultant/Sales Support at the Financials 2004 Conference. He also completed a SEM-BCS 3.2 Pilot Implementation for an industry leading gas and oil company; a SEM-BPS Proposal/Project Plan for global integrated information, payment, and technology solution provider; and an SEM-BCS 3.5 Proof of Concept model for an industry leading pharmaceutical company.   

As Senior Costing/Controlling Manager, Bruce was responsible for the coordination and development of $150M annual capital plan (including plan presentation and approval by executive management). He worked directly with the CFO and other executive management as well as line managers and staff in the development of the plan, which was then presented for approval to the CEO and Board of Directors. In this role, Bruce was also responsible for financial justification of major capital expenditures (i.e. new facilities, machinery, tooling) and management of multi-million dollar projects such as one to confirm financial viability of in-house parts manufacturing vs. outsourcing (which would have resulted in the closure of two parts manufacturing plants)

As Costing Manager, Bruce was responsible for the company’s costing systems, including the testing and implementation of a highly customized version of Mac-Pac integrated product costing/materials planning system still in use after 15+ years and the selection and implementation of the MTM (Methods Time Management) system for parts manufacturing labor standards, still in use after 10+ years
